Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has directed the state government to conduct a floor test in the assembly tomorrow. A delegation led by former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met the Governor at the Raj Bhavan yesterday and demanded a floor test, citing the political situation in the state. The Governor said that the current political situation in Maharashtra is uncertain.
The Governor has directed to convene a special session of the Legislative Assembly at 11 am tomorrow with the sole agenda of a trust vote against the Chief Minister and complete the proceedings by 5 pm in any case.
The entire proceedings of the assembly will be telecast live. Voting will not be done by voice vote, MLAs will be asked to stand in their places for counting of votes.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena moved the Supreme Court challenging Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s direction to conduct floor test yesterday to prove majority to the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. Shiv Sena Chief Whip Sunil Prabhu has filed a petition.
