The controversy that started after the poster of director Leena Manimekalai’s film showed Goddess Kali smoking a cigarette, which is not taking its name to stop at the moment.
Mahua Moitra gave a statement on Tuesday. He said that for him Kali is a meat-eater and a liquor-acceptor. He claimed that whiskey is offered to deities at many places. One can think of our deities in any form.
He further said that people should have the freedom to worship their God in their own way. I have no problem with this form of Kali.
A case has been registered against director Leena Manimekalai in many places including Uttar Pradesh and Delhi for the poster. There has been a demand to arrest him.
