Mary Kom appointed chairperson of monitoring committee to probe allegations against WFI president

Veteran boxer MC Mary Kom will head a five-member monitoring committee set up to probe allegations of sexual harassment against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The government has appointed this committee which will also look after the day to day work of WFI for the next one month.

Following the allegations of the wrestlers, President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been banned from overseeing the functioning of the wrestling association. The committee members include Olympian wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, Dronacharya awardee Trupti Murugande, Captain Rajagopalan, Radha Sriman.

Anurag Thakur said that Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh will not work on his post, will stay away from him. The serious allegations leveled against him will be investigated. We are making Mary Kom the chairman of the committee. A committee of five people will be formed under the chairmanship of Mary Kom. Now this monitoring committee will see the work of wrestling association.
