Just Ahead of Prime Minister’s Davos Summit in Switzerland, an international survey by Gallup international has ranked him among the top three leaders of the world.
The survey was conducted among respondents of 50 countries which had rated Prime Minister Modi ahead of China’s Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, British Prime Minister Theresa May and Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu among others.
The two leaders who grabbed the top position are British Premier Angela Merkel and the newly elected French President Emmanuel Macron.
We certainly believe that Prime Minister Modi deserves the spot he has won given his tremendous contribution towards the nation for the last four years. Following Modi are the British Premier Theresa May in the fourth and China’s Xi Jinping in the fifth position.
Russian President Putin finished sixth while Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Sau stood at seventh spot respectively.
US President Donald Trump ranked just below the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. Also based on the survey Modi has a very high favorability in Afghanistan and Bangladesh where 69 % and 50 % respondents voted for him respectively.
Modi has several feathers in his cap when it comes to electoral history, the most recent being the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections and much more to come given his leadership acumen.
When it comes to his stature in international diplomacy, Modi has also been compared to Congress icon Jawaharlal Nehru among the BJP cadre.
The results from the Gallup international survey is going to boost BJP’s strength even further and is definitely going to reap rich benefits for the party ahead of the assembly elections in the eight states( Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Nagaland, Tripura, Meghalaya and Mizoram) and Lok Sabha elections in 2019.
Modi has climbed up two spots since 2015, when he was ranked 5th, with a net score of 4 to net score of 8.
While the US President Donald Trump has hit rock bottom compared to his predecessor Barrack Obama who was ranked number one in the GIA polls.
The Gallup international polls rate the leaders taking into account both favorability and unfavourability.
Both the top spot leaders Merkel and Macron has net scores of 20 and 21 respectively. Russian President Vladimir Putin has a remarkable favorability in most regions of the world except the USA (14%) and EU(28%).
Top three Modi loving nations are Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Fiji, with Vietnam witnessing a staggering rise of 62% favourability. Among the G8 countries of Russia, USA, Canada, UK, Japan, France, Germany and Italy, Modi’s favourability decreased overall by a score of four, with Russia registering the steep slump of (-31).
With his rising popularity, Modi is set to conquer the world stage yet again with his adept leadership skills, as he attends the World Economic Forum (WEF) between 22nd to 23rd January in Davos Switzerland
