More than 22 thousand loudspeakers removed from mosques and temples in UP

On the last Friday of the holy month of Ramzan in Uttar Pradesh, the prayers of Goodbye Juma were offered peacefully. On this occasion, for the first time goodbye prayers were not offered on the streets.

The Uttar Pradesh government had directed that prayers should be offered only in mosques and not on roads or public places. The worshipers offered prayers inside the premises of mosques and Idgah and no untoward incident was reported from any place.

As a precaution, various clerics had appealed to the people to offer prayers inside the mosques. He had said that Namaz should not be offered on the streets. Heavy security arrangements were made for today.

Meanwhile, more than twenty two thousand loudspeakers were dropped from various mosques and temples till date. The Hindu and Muslim communities assisted the administration to achieve this goal. For this initiative, the police had contacted more than twenty nine thousand religious leaders of all religions.
