In Bihar, 31 ministers were inducted in the Nitish Kumar cabinet today. Governor Fagu Chauhan administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers at the Raj Bhavan in Patna. The 16 ministers of Rashtriya Janata Dal include Alok Mehta, Tej Pratap Yadav and Anita Devi.
Among the 11 ministers of JDU, the names of Vijay Chaudhary, Bijendra Yadav and Shravan Kumar are prominent. Two Congress MLAs, Afaq Alam and Murari Gautam, who became a part of the Grand Alliance, have got a place in the cabinet. Santosh Kumar Suman of Jitan Ram Majhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha and an independent MLA Sumit Kumar Singh have also been included in the cabinet.
Left parties have decided not to join the government. Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the Chief Minister and Tejashwi Prasad as the Deputy Chief Minister on August 10.
