Indian Army, Air Force and Ministry of External Affairs held a joint press briefing on ‘Operation Sindoor’ in which key officials presented details of the action taken against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri clarified that on 22 April 2025, 25 Indians and 1 Nepali citizen were brutally killed in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, after which India took retaliatory action. He said that in the attack, the terrorists shot the tourists in the head in front of their families and deliberately gave a message of barbarism.

Lt Col Sofia Qureshi highlighted that the Sawai Nala camp located in Muzaffarabad was the main training centre of Lashkar-e-Taiba from where terrorists involved in previous attacks were trained.

Air Force Wing Commander Vyomika Singh shared details of the operation, in which nine terrorist camps were targeted between 1:05 and 1:30 am. She also clarified that attention was paid to causing minimum damage to civilian infrastructure.

The foreign secretary confirmed that the Resistance Front, which is affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack. India described its action as justified and proportionate to prevent cross-border terrorism.
