PFI ban was necessary to stop true terrorism: Shah

On the issue of Popular Front of India-PFI, Shah said the government has successfully banned it as it was causing radicalization in the country. He said that PFI was trying to create raw material for terrorism and the government had several documents which proved that the activities of PFI were not good for the unity of the country.

On militancy in the Northeast, Shah said there is peace now and the BJP government has signed pacts with several insurgent groups. He informed that more than eight thousand armed insurgency supporters have surrendered and joined the mainstream. Shah said that the North East region was earlier known for blockades, bandhs, bomb blasts and militancy, while now it is getting road, rail and air facilities.
