Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off the new and modern Vande Bharat Express train from Gandhinagar railway station in Gujarat.
20901 Vande Bharat Express running between Ahmedabad to Mumbai will run six days a week. This train will not run on Sunday. This train will leave Mumbai Central at 06.10 AM and reach Surat at 08.50 AM. This train will reach Baroda at 10.20 am and Ahmedabad at 11.35 am. It will reach its final destination i.e. Gandhinagar Capital at 12.40 pm.
The Prime Minister said that 21st century India will give a new impetus to the cities of the country. He said that the time has come for the redevelopment of cities as per the changing times and demands.
The Prime Minister said that along with the focus on improving and expanding old cities, new cities are also being built according to the demand of global trade. He also said that the government is focusing on building a network of two cities situated together.
Reiterating his government’s resolve towards the poor and middle class people, the Prime Minister said that the government has launched the FAME scheme to manufacture and operate electric buses in the country. He said that more than seven thousand electric buses have been approved under this scheme.
Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that the work of eight hundred and ten kilometer metro rail network in the country has been completed and the work of construction of 982 kilometer metro route is going on.
