The ceremony of the Republic Day parade will begin with Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting the National War Memorial. According to tradition, the national flag will be unfurled, followed by a roaring 21-gun national anthem.
The parade will begin with the greeting of President Ram Nath Kovind.
For the Republic Day festivities, the official said that some 6,000 security forces have been mobilised to sustain vigil. The Delhi Police Facial Recognition Device was also set up at the criminal identification vantage point, according to a tweet from the PTI news agency. Checking and frisking of staff deployed at Rajghat will be done by personnel in PPE kits, with mask and face shield, keeping in line with coronavirus protocols.
Thirty-two tableaus including 17 from states and union territories, six from the Ministry of Defence and nine from other Union ministries and paramilitaries—representing the nation’s rich cultural heritage, economic growth and defence prowess will lead the Rajpath to the Republic Day parade.
