NEW DELHI: Following his resignation from all organizational positions and primary membership in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), former national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla stated that personal financial responsibilities and family commitments prompted his departure. He clarified that the step was not driven by political disagreements, but rather by the practical constraints of full-time, unpaid political activism.
Poonawalla explained that political party spokespersons do not receive fixed salaries, making it necessary to balance basic household expenses, including rent and caring for his mother. He noted that political platforms operate as ideological movements rather than standard employment, adding that his ideological alignment with government initiatives remains intact as he transitions toward professional opportunities in the private sector.
Addressing speculation regarding potential political realignments, he ruled out returning to previous affiliations, emphasizing that his current focus remains on professional livelihood and family priorities. He maintained that he intends to continue sharing independent perspectives on national and public affairs.
