Singapore took back the invitation sent to Kejriwal, Kejriwal had accused the Center

The Singapore government has withdrawn its invitation to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to attend the World City Summit 2022. A representative of the Singapore government has apprised the Delhi government in this regard.

The Delhi chief minister had also written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this month that it was against the interest of the nation to stop a chief minister from attending such an event. The Delhi government has said that if Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is not able to attend the World City Summit to be held in Singapore and due to this the country has to be humiliated along with Delhi, then only the central government is responsible for it.

According to officials, prior political clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs and FCRA approval is mandatory for such visits. He said that Delhi being a Union Territory with a Legislative Assembly, all such files are sent to the Ministry of External Affairs through the Lieutenant Governor.
