A special aircraft carrying 110 people stranded in Afghanistan reached Delhi airport from Kabul today. In this, Sri Guru Granth Sahib and Hindu scriptures have also been brought to India. Among these people who reached India are Afghan citizens of Hindu and Sikh community stranded there, including Indian citizens.
Three Guru Granth Sahib and ancient Hindu scriptures including Ramayana, Mahabharata and Gita have also been brought to India from historical Gurudwaras in Afghanistan. Guru Granth Sahib Ji will be kept at Guru Gurdwara Arjun Devji in Mahavir Nagar and Hindu religious texts will be kept at Asmai Temple in Faridabad.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, 10 Indians and 94 Afghans, including the Afghan Hindu-Sikh minority community, were brought in. Nine children, including three infants, have also been brought in.
So far, more than 565 Indian nationals have been evacuated from Afghanistan.
