Sunny Deol’s bungalow will not be auctioned, bank withdraws notice

Sunny Deol is currently riding high on the success of Gadar 2. But news came that Bank of Baroda has given a notice to auction his Juhu villa. However, the bank has now changed its mind and has withdrawn the actor’s villa from the auction. Earlier, Bank of Baroda had issued a notice mentioning recovery of loan of Rs 55 crore and interest.

The auction was set on September 25 at a price of Rs 51.43 crore. The auction notice also named Sunny Deol’s real name as Ajay Singh Deol and his villa at Gandhi Gram Road in Juhu, Mumbai.

Soon after the news broke, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh reacted to it and questioned the bank’s decision to withdraw from the auction. He wrote, “Yesterday afternoon the nation came to know that Bank of Baroda has put BJP MP Sunny Deol’s Juhu residence up for e-auction as he has not paid Rs 56 crore. This morning, in less than 24 hours, the nation learned that Bank of Baroda has withdrawn the auction notice due to ‘technical reasons’. Wonder who started these ‘technical reasons’?”
