Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took an indirect dig at opponents at a function. He rebuked those who questioned the Maha Kumbh, saying that those who were dissatisfied with the Ram temple in Ayodhya are now criticizing the Maha Kumbh as well. He expressed that the welfare of farmers cannot be expected from those who usurp animal fodder, which was a direct political attack on RJD national president Lalu Yadav.
PM Modi announced the 19th installment on the occasion of PM Kisan Samman Samaroh in Bhagalpur, Bihar, which will provide financial assistance of Rs 21,500 crore to more than 9.7 crore farmers. He reiterated that the NDA government is committed to the welfare of farmers. He called it one of the four pillars of developed India and said that continuous efforts will continue in the welfare of farmers under the leadership of the Central and State Government.
The Prime Minister said that during the previous governments, when there was flood, drought or hailstorm, the problems of farmers were ignored. Schemes launched by the NDA government, such as the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, have changed this situation.
Modi noted that today farmers have easy access to fertilizers, irrigation facilities and modern seeds, which has solved their problems to a large extent. The “Mahakumbh of Unity” is going on in Prayagraj, in which lakhs of people are participating. He said, “Some people hate religious heritage, while the NDA is protecting it.”
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the misgovernance of the previous governments of Congress and RJD gave a bad name to Bihar but now the NDA is committed to the welfare of the people of Bihar.
