North India is set for another bout of unsettled weather. The India Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms, rain, lightning, and hailstorm in parts of Delhi-NCR and several districts of Uttar Pradesh throughout the week due to an active western disturbance. Today’s maximum temperature was recorded at 33 degrees Celsius with a minimum of 21 degrees Celsius.
For April 4, the IMD has issued a special alert for afternoon and evening hours. Strong winds of 30 to 40 km per hour, lightning, and thundershowers are expected. The maximum temperature is forecast at 31 degrees and minimum at 20 degrees Celsius.
Thunderstorms are expected to continue on April 5 as well. April 6 will bring some relief with partly cloudy skies and no weather warning. Rain is likely to return on April 7 and temperatures are expected to hover between 31 and 17 degrees Celsius through April 8.
The IMD has advised people to stay away from open areas and avoid standing under trees during lightning and strong winds. Unnecessary travel during the storm is also discouraged. Farmers have been advised to take necessary precautions to protect their crops during this period of volatile weather.
