TMC was in the grip of a shock when one of their most famous leader, Shadtabdi Roy gave cryptic hints of switching over to Bhartiya Janata Party. Shatabdi Roy an MP who was working for TMC since 2009 was originally an actress in Bengali films before joining politics.
Earlier her statements sent shockwaves to the now weakening party, TMC as day in and day out TMC leaders have been quitting the party only to join Bhartiya Janata Party.
Even Bhartiya Janata Party’s Chief Dilip Ghosh made a challenging statement that at least 50 Trinamool MLAs 50 leaders of the TMC would quit to join BJP.
“If I take a decision, then I will let you know at 2 pm on the 16th of January.” Said the Member of Parliament, Shatabdi Roy who represented Birbhum. Barely a few months left for Bengal’s Assembly polls, and the party’s stalwarts and loyalists like Suvendu Adhikari, had changed their course only to join the Bhartiya Janata Party. Not only that, many other other MLAs and TMC leaders, including Shilbhadra Dutta, Kabirul Islam and Jitendra Tiwari, had left the party recently.
Shatabdi Roy said he was upset with how things were going. Trinamool Congress party’s Member of Parliament from Birbhum took to Facebook fanpage, to express her disappointment and how she has been ignored and not been informed of party programmes. She expressed that she was perturbed by this discrimination in the party run under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee.
By the way, another TMC minister, Rajib Banerjee, has also recently struck a discordant note. He is hoping to have a Facebook Live session on Saturday afternoon.
