The United Kisan Morcha has announced suspension of its ongoing agitation over three agricultural laws and related issues. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni said that this decision has been taken in the meeting of farmer leaders.
He said that the agitating farmers would start leaving the protest site from Saturday. He said that the farmer leaders will hold a review meeting on the 15th of next month and if the government does not fulfill its promises, they will start the agitation again. Farmers have been agitating on the borders of Delhi for almost a year.
Parliament had repealed all three agricultural laws on the first day of the current winter session. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 19th of last month had announced the repeal of the new Agriculture Act made in 2019.
