Videography survey work resumed in Gyanvapi Masjid premises today amid tight security.Varanasi Police Commissioner A Satish Ganesh said that today the survey work was completed peacefully and this work will continue tomorrow also.Earlier the survey conducted by the Supreme Court The demand for adjournment of the work was rejected. The videography survey is being done on the orders of a Varanasi court.
Three rooms in the basement belonged to the Muslim side and were locked. The mosque management committee allowed the survey to be conducted by opening the locked rooms with the keys. The fourth room belonged to the Hindu side and had no door, so the survey was conducted without any hindrance.
The report of the Gyanvapi Masjid survey has to be submitted to the Varanasi court by May 17. The court said that the locks should be broken if keys are not available to access certain areas of the premises for survey.
