The 8th International Day of Yoga is being celebrated today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the yoga practice program in Mysuru, Karnataka. On this occasion, he said that Yoga is for the entire humanity and Yoga has given new direction to health in the world and the belief of a healthy life. The Prime Minister said that Yoga is not only for India but for the entire humanity. Yoga is not just for individuals but helps in global peace.
He said that our ancestors used to stress the need to know oneself to understand the universe. Today Yoga shows the way to achieve that. He called upon everyone to make yoga a lifestyle.
Karnataka Governor Thaavar Chand Gehlot, the descendants of the Mysuru royal family, Yaduveer Krishnadatta, Kamaraj Wadiyar and his mother Pramoda Devi Wadiyar were also present on the occasion. On the occasion of Yoga Day, about 15 thousand youth did yoga with the Prime Minister.
