The court’s verdict on the alleged rape case against Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh will be out on Friday and the tricity is already filling up with blind believers of the self-acclaimed saint. 10,000 followers have already reached Panchkula despite the prohibitory orders.
Both Haryana and Punjab are on high alert. The reason? As per intelligence reports, more than 10 lakh followers of Dera Sacha Sauda will gather around the high court for the verdict. A war army of civilians, basically irrational and insensible followers of the alleged rapist is building up in Panchkula. They are trying to gather as many weapons and as much fuel as possible. To tackle this, section 144 has been imposed on the sale of fuel in bulk in Gurgaon with little to no effect on the people who are up to buying it in any way possible.
Here is a video of the growing senseless civilian army in Panchkula.
Centre has delegated 35 companies of paramilitary forces to Punjab. Police patrolling is on, leaves of all the cops have been cancelled and the army is getting all set to face the mob if anything goes as opposed to their wishes which is a verdict against Ram Rahim. The cricket stadium at sector-16 Chandigarh is being converted into a jail to detain Dera followers who will come for the verdict. The police said that such prisoners will be released only after the situation in the tricity normalises.
Ram Rahim Singh has been accused of raping a 15-year old and is in police custody. The incident happened back in 1999 while the report against the same was filed in 2002. Special CBI court in Panchkula will hear the verdict of the case. If the verdict goes against the Dera Chief, the mob is likely to burst out their fury on public and private property, people and of course the police and military forces.
The focus of paramilitary forces will be mainly on Sirsa, Fatehabad and Panchkula districts. Tricity will probably shut down on Friday that is August 25. Even the social media activities of such hooligans is under surveillance.
Only time will tell what the court’s verdict will be and how the crowd will react to the same. Hopefully no damage to people and property will be made but looking at the track record of Indian mob handling such situations, there is a likeliness that violence will prevail in the tricity in the next couple of days.
