Around 40 Congress leaders left the party in Jammu

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, over 36 Congress leaders, including leaders of the National Students Union of India at various universities in Jammu, today resigned from the party. These leaders tendered their resignations in support of Azad.

Azad had recently resigned from the Congress party. Among those who have resigned are Anirudh Raina, vice-president of the state unit of NSUI and Manik Sharma, general secretary. These leaders have sent their resignations to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi.

64 senior Congress leaders, including former Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, resigned from the party on Tuesday in support of Ghulam Nabi Azad.
