In order to keep himself from getting sucked into a distasteful controversy senior BJP leader Tarun Vijay deleted his social media handle twitter.
The leader, according to reports, sacked the employee handling his tweets over alleged posts that looked like he was supporting Rahul Gandhi and criticising PM Modi.
The fiasco began late Tuesday evening when it was found that Vijay’s post having a reference to BJP criticising Rahul Gandhi’s Mansarovar yatra said that no one had the right to question the motive of a person undertaking a pilgrimage. The tweet has since been removed from the social media handle twitter.
The tweet garnered interest when the leader posted that he has sacked the person who was looking after his twitter handle.
The BJP leader later tweeted, “I am on morning walk and I am Ok. Sacked person who was handling my tweets.”
The incident took a curious turn with the BJP leader claiming at mid-night that he was on morning walk. He posted the tweet around 12:11am.
Tarun Vijay further clarified that his twitter password was being misused while he was busy shifting house.
The leader in this regard twitted, “Thank you friends for showing faith in us and not believing the wrong tweets. It happened when we were shifting home. Password misused and I am filing a police complaint. Changed password. Thanks to the huge number of friends who stood by me Thank you.”
The incident by then had cater- pulled with various Congress party leaders sharing screen shots of the BJP leader’s post.
The waters of lake Mansarovar are so gentle, tranquil and calm. They give everything and lose nothing. Anyone can drink from them. There is no hatred here. This is why we worship these waters in India.#KailashYatra pic.twitter.com/x6sDEY5mjX
