The Delhi High Court has issued summons to former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, his son Aditya Thackeray and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut in a defamation case. Shiv Sena leader Rahul Ramesh Shewale had filed a civil defamation case against all three. Regarding this, the court has issued summons to all the three leaders. The matter will come up for hearing on April 17, 2023.
Rahul Shewale had objected to an article written in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana. Rahul Shewale was mentioned in an article written recently. After which the Shiv Sena leader filed a defamation case against Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray and Sanjay Raut, accusing them of tarnishing the image.
Earlier, there was a long fight between Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde over the election symbol. The Election Commission handed over the bow and arrow from Uddhav Thackeray to the Eknath Shinde faction. Also, the Election Commission recognized the Eknath Shinde faction as the real Shiv Sena. On handing over the bow and arrow election symbol to Eknath Shinde, Sanjay Raut had alleged that this deal was done for crores of rupees. He said that the Shinde faction has bought the election symbol for Rs 2 crore.
