Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee informed its supports yesterday, how to deal with BJP in next year’s General Election.
The Chief Minister spelled out her strategy for the upcoming election and said, “We will start the ‘BJP hatao’, desh bachao campaign on August 15, and 2019 the BJP will be given a blow, and Bengal will show the path.”

Banerjee was addressing Trinamool Congress’s annual ‘Martyr’s Day rally’ at Esplanade, where people from different corner of the state had gathered in large numbers to observe the rally.
According to Kolkata police, the gathering was around 1-1.5 lakhs, but Trinamool Congress sources claimed that it was around 5 lakhs. However, the opposition political parties in West Bengal said that the people have come under threatening of the ruling party, some have even come under the greed of getting Biriani for lunch, and some have come to visit Kolkata. So there is no Didi magic here.
According to Lalbajar, Kolkata police headquarters, as reported, at least 6,000 police personnel, around five watch towers near Victoria house at Esplanade, three quick respond team (QRT), Heavy Radio Flying Squad (HRFS) four teams of Kolkata Police’s Reserve Force, 100 CCTVs, 8 trauma care ambulance, bomb squad, dog squad personnel, had been deployed to prevent any untoward incident.
Mamata Banerjee carried an attack on BJP and said that the BJP have no numbers outside the House and will be ousted from power in 2019 by a federal front alliance consisting of regional parties.
The Chief Minister also added that the way lynching is happening everywhere in the country, they are creating Talibanis among people. She also said, “In BJP and RSS, there are good people whom I respect but there are some who are playing dirty games.”
Referring to the Mednapur incident, where PM Modi had recently addressed a farmer’s rally and an accident occurred, when the canopy fell while the Prime Minister was addressing the rally, injuring around 90 people, Mamata Banerjee said, “Who could not properly built a pandal, they are dreaming to build a nation.”
Sources, meanwhile, confirmed that the BJP has countered the TMC supremo’s charges. The BJP’s National Secretary Rahul Sinha today said that Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee should stop dreaming about being the next Prime Minister as her ambitions will never be fulfilled.
From the event two term Rajya Sabha BJP MP Chandan Mitra, Congress MLA Sabina Yashmin, Abu Taher, Samar Mukherjee and Akhruzzaman, former CPM MP Moinul Hasan joined the TMC.
The ‘Martyr’s Day Rally’ is organised by the TMC every year on July 21st in the memory of the 13 Youth Congress activists killed in police firing in 1993 during the Left Front regime in West Bengal. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was at the time a leader of the Youth Congress.
