The Union Minster Babul Supriyo expressed his wish to become the Chief Minister of West Bengal, as the BJP leader was speaking to press on the sidelines of India Today Conclave East 2018.
While the party leader was asked by the press that whether he would be the BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate from West Bengal in future, he answered “I don’t mind if I get a chance. But it would be totally the decision of the party.”
Passing the ball into his own Party’s court, he said “Bengal has many senior BJP leaders and each of them can be the CM”.
On that same day, the Union Minister of the Modi-led government, Babul Supriyo said that he is supporting the Muslim clerics protest in West Bengal against the Bengal’s Didi’s decision to donate Rs 10,000 to each of the 300 puja committees across the state.
Supriyo said, “Yes, I support the protests of Muslim clerics against West Bengal government’s decision to donate Rs 10,000 to each Durga Puja committees in the state. What’s the use of wasting money for a religious ceremony when the government can’t clear the Dearness Allowance for its employees?” asked the BJP leader.
He also shared his views on Didi’s puja bonus issue on the sidelines of India Today Conclave East 2018, asserting, he feels that appeasement policies won’t help Bengal’s Didi Mamata Bannerjee to fill her vote bank, because even the minority community in the state is not happy with her. “For Mamata Bannerjee minority community is nothing but 27 percent of vote banks that would ensure that she is in power” added Babul Supriyo.
It is worth mentioning that Didi’s puja bonus issue is facing lot of challenges since it has been announced; as we have earlier reported that Calcutta High Court has put on hold Bengal’s CM’s Durga Puja bonus plan for puja organizers and the High Court also ordered the state not to give any bonus money to the puja organizers till October 9.
Furthermore, the Division Bench of the Calcutta High Court also pointed out on several questions like– “What is the purpose of using people’s money? Can you use it at all? On what ground is the state using the exchequer money for Durga Puja celebration? And is there a proper guideline to issue their money?”
And earlier we have reported that too that the High Court order comes two days after Imams held a rally in Kolkata and raised their voice on the issue of Bannerjee’s puja dole, as Pirzada Toha Siddiqui of the Furfura Sharif majar thrashed the Chief Minister by asserting, “He has no problems with Didi donating money for pujas but she must do that for other communities also”.
Furthermore, the BJP leader Babul Suoriyo also claimed that the Chief Minister of West Bengal is abusing power in the state. “Her ideologies don’t have a ‘raj dharma’ and not even a ‘manab dharma’. She lives a simple life but her thinking is violent” asserted Supriyo.
Earlier after the HC order, opposition party’s Bengal Chief Dilip Ghosh also didn’t miss the chance to thrash Mamata government, claiming that “Giving ‘chanda’ for the Durga puja is appeasement politics. While earlier, it was the Imam stipend, now it is the grand Puja bonus to 28,000 organizers… the state government is continuously complaining that they don’t have funds for the developments, so how they can just allot Rs. 20,000 crore for pujas, this is how Ghosh concluded on Didi’s puja bonus issue.
On a personal note of his decision to join politics, the singer turned politician stated that politics did not get him into politics; rather it happened only after a three minutes conversation with Ramdevji on air.
He termed his party as ‘Kaamdar-party’. He said, “BJP is a ‘kaamdar-party’ and not a ‘naamdar-party’. Here, chair is not only for the king” added the BJP leader Babul Supriyo.
