The day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘urban Maoist’ jibe at the opposition Congress party, now BJP president Amit Shah and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath too trained guns at the party, on Saturday by accusing it of supporting ‘Naxalites’ in Chhattisgarh.
While addressing an election rally in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur, Amit Shah asked the opposition that how the Congress can talk of encouraging development in the state and at the same time support Naxalites, who are responsible for promoting violence in the region.
Furthermore, the BJP president threw question towards the opposition ‘How can the party, which sees Naxalites as revolutionaries, think for the benefit of the state?’ he asked after releasing BJP’s election manifesto for poll bound Chhattisgarh.
And further, the BJP president Amit Shah credited the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh for successfully tackling the Naxalite issues by adding ‘Raman Singh’s government has changed the state in the past 15 years and has been successful in containing the Naxalites’.
Meanwhile, the UP Chief Minster Yogi Adityanath also shared the same view at a separate rally in Chhattisgarh.
While speaking in a rally in Chhatisgarh’s Lormi, Yogi stated that Congress had promoted Naxalism in this region for their selfish motives. BJP government is taking strict measures to combat the problem, he added.
Adityanath further asserted that the Congress has never shied away from indulging in politics even if it came at the cost of national security.
Congress toyed with the national security for their political benefits. Be it Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, north-eastern states or Kashmir, Congress did politics at the cost of national security. But for BJP, the national security is the top priority. We never tolerated threats to national security. No one has the liberty to toy with national security, Adityanath added in his speech.
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had accused the Congress of supporting urban-maoist at the cost of adivasis living in the state.
The PM stated that Urban Maoists live in AC surroundings, move around in big cars and their children study abroad, but they ruin the lives of our poor adivasi youth here through remote control. ‘Why is Congress supporting these Urban Maoists?’, He asked.
Following Modi’s statement Congress also hit-back by saying the PM is staring at defeat in Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh and resorting to such remarks to hide his failure and weak-kneed approach towards fighting Naxalites.
