It was a Wednesday noon when our iconic Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a coffee break at the iconic Indian Coffee House located at the Mall Road in Shimla. The PM Modi was returning from the oath taking ceremony for the new BJP government in Himachal Pradesh. While his visit, PM Modi rejoiced and revived his old golden days. While enjoying the coffee he praised that the coffee tastes as good as it did 20 years ago.
Taking on social media as the most prominent way to share the feelings, PM Modi also tweeted his thoughts with the caption, “In Shimla, relished coffee at the Indian Coffee House and reminisced old days. The coffee tastes as good as it did two decades ago, when I would frequent Himachal for party work,” Although Modi spent more than 10 minutes outside the coffee house and enjoyed a cup of coffee where hundreds of Bhartiya Janta Party’s workers and others were assembled, he often used to spend time at the Indian Coffee House when he was in the hill state for the politics related work.
Modi’s Old Himachal Days
From the period of 1994 to 2002, PM Modi worked for the BJP party in this beautiful hill station. He was the party’s in-charge for the state that added as lighter vein that he never paid for the coffee he had. He also shared that his journalist friends used to pay the bills. Modi also stated at the rally that, “Sitting at the Indian Coffee House along with my journalist friends, I used to get an insight into the state’s political developments.”
On Wednesday, December 27, Prime Minister Modi received a warm welcome in the state with people lining up to escort him towards the ceremony venue and to catch the glimpse of the iconic political personality. The chanting of Modi-Modi filled the air creating excitement and zeal amongst the people.
Modi Can’t Resist the Coffee Aroma
The aroma of the coffee at a popular eatery proved to be too strong for the PM Modi to resist as they suddenly made a scheduled to sip the beverage. PM Modi’s unexpected visit to the Indian Coffee House seemed to be a surprising and a delight for the locals. He made a bold move by ignoring the security concerns and stepping out of his vehicle amongst the local people. Outside the coffee house, PM Modi was mobbed by fans who were trying to take selfies with him.
BJP to work Tirelessly in Himachal Pradesh
Prime Minister’s coffee break was a part of his rally for the oath taking ceremony. The BJP won 44 seats out of 68 in the state assembly election in December 2017. After the shocking defeat of BJP’s previous CM Prem Kumar Dumal, the Bhartiya Janta Party appointed Jai Ram Thakur as the elected leader. During his visit to the hill station of Shimla, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his confidence that the new BJP government would work tirelessly for the people in this beautiful state.
Prime Minister Modi also took to Twitter to congratulate Jai Ram Thakur as the Chief Minister along with his council of ministers. PM Modi tweeted with the caption, “Congratulations to Jairam Thakur and all those who took oath today. I am confident that, this team will work tirelessly and serve the people of Himachal Pradesh with exceptional diligence.”
