Launching a scathing attack on the Congress party and its chief Rahul Gandhi, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday said that the Supreme Court’s judgment over Bhima-Koregaon case has exposed the true face of Congress which its president Rahul Gandhi should “hang his head in shame” for “supporting anti-nationals”.
Addressing the press in Delhi, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra alleged that Rahul Gandhi supports people who try and destroy the country.
“This judgment by the Supreme Court may be a win for India. This finding of fact is additionally associate indictment of Congress,” he said. “Rahul Gandhi should hang his head in shame.” He asserted that the Supreme Court observed the fact behind the arrest is interest of national security. The BJP leader added, ‘The country does not settle for the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.
He further opined that during the Congress-led UPA ‘urban naxals’ were made the members of the NAC that was headed by Rahul’s mother Sonia Gandhi.
“The Congress party and Rahul Gandhi are ready to compromise with the country’s security to serve their interest,” he added. “Rahul Gandhi is standing with Gautam Navlakha who wants referendum in and does not believe Kashmir is an integral part of India,” Patra said.
Earlier on Friday, in an exceedingly 2:1 majority judgement, the Supreme Court refused to interfere in the arrest of five activists and anonymously declined to the proposal for setting up a SIT into the matter.
In its order, the court allowed the Pune police to travel ahead with its probe and extended the house arrest of arrested persons by another four weeks. The five activists, were arrested by Pune police in reference with the case, are Sudha Bhardwaj, Varavara Rao, Gautam Navlakha, Vernon Gonsalves and Arun Ferreira.
