Two-different cities, two-different murders, but they were two BJP leaders…
The first murder took place in Chikkamagaluru town of Bengaluru last Friday night. The deceased, BJP city unit general secretary Mohammed Anwar, 40, was stabbed while he was returning from the house of another BJP leader Raghunath when the incident occurred where allegedly two bike borne assailants attacked him with and stabbed him around 12 times, near Singarinilaya Road, informed Abdul Kabeer, the brother of the deceased.
According to Kabeer, he got a call around midnight informing him that Anwar was dead and his mortal remains had been shifted to district hospital.
He registered an FIR against 5 suspects at the Basavanahali Police Station. In his complaint with the police, Kabeer alleged that Anwar and his family had been receiving death threats over the phone for the past few days.
The local BJP, in protest to the incident held an hour-long protest in the city on Saturday morning. The shop establishments remained closed for an hour. The BJP also alleged that the Popular Front of India (PFI) and Socialist Democratic Party of India (SDPI) are the main suspects behind this murder.
Moreover, in another death incident in Agartala, Tripura the body of the local ward secretary of BJP, Biswajit Pal (35), was found dead near his home on Saturday. Police have already arrested his friend, Pranjit Bhowmick, in this connection from outside the house where Pal’s body was recovered. Pal’s friend Bhowmick who was arrested as the prime suspect in the alleged murder case, claimed that the death was an accident which occurred due to mishandling of pistol.
However, according to police, Pal was shot in the chest around 200 metres from his home in Badarghat. Also his bag and Scotty were recovered from the spot of the incident.
In both the cases, the local people were shocked to silence. The Police are now investigating the case and trying to identify the motive behind these murders.
