According to reports, K J Alphons, Union Minister, on Saturday informed that the Indian diaspora in China had contributed around Rs. 31 lac, towards the Kerala flood relief work.
The minister stated in a tweet that the donations collected from the diaspora will be handed over to Pinarayi Vijayan, the Chief Minister of Kerala.
The Union Minister’s tweet read, “Collected Rs 32.13 lakhs from Indians in Shanghai, China, for flood victims in Kerala. Cheques will be delivered to CM on return from China.”
The minister in his statement thanked the Consulate General of India in China. Alphons also thanked the Indian diaspora in China for their humanitarian jesture.
Union Minister Alphons is on a visit to China. He carried out various road shows in China including those that were held in Beijing and Shanghai to promote Indian tourism in China.
