After financial fraud was found in transactions worth lakhs from banks in Delhi without using an ATM card, the UP Police’s Anti-Terrorist Squad conducted search operations at three locations in the state and five locations in Delhi, an official said on Sunday.
ATS Police Inspector General G.K. Goswami said a new form of fraud was carried out using cell phones.
“It also emerged that fake identity cards were used for these numbers,” he said.
Officials said the first searches were carried out in Sambhal, Amroha and Moradabad in the state, from where some incriminating documents were retrieved.
Later, at five locations in Delhi, raids were carried out.
