Chattisgarh’s new capital, Naya Raipur, will be renamed as ‘Atal Nagar’ after the late Atal Bihari Vajapayee.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting, held recently, in Chattishgarh. The Chief Minister of Chattishgarh, Raman Singh, chaired the meeting.
The state of Chattishgarh was formed during the previous NDA government, led by former PM Atal Bihari Vajapayee in 2000. The then government had created three states Chattishgarh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand from Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh respectively, to uplift the poorest regions of the country by giving financial and administrative autonomy.
Singh, elaborating on the decision, at a press meet, said, “It has been decided to rename Naya Raipur as ‘Atal Nagar’ after late former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajapayee who was instrumental in the creation of Chattisgarh, by carving it out of Madhya Pradesh in 2000”.
Furthermore, Singh added, “Naya Raipur is India’s sixth planned city after Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Gandhi Nagar (Gujarat), Chandigarh (Punjub and Hariyana) and Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra) and fourth among the capital cities of the country.
The BJP, meanwhile, has also initiated the ‘kalash yatra’, where ashes of the late Prime Minister are being carried to all the Indian states as a mark of respect to Late Vajpayee.
However, amid the various steps taken to pay respect to the departed leader, and when the entire country is mourning the demise of the former Prime Minister; our ‘Bollywood Tiger’ aka Salman seems to have been caught sleeping.
Salman’s condolence tweet for late Atal Bihari Vajapayee was posted 5 days after the former Prime Minister passed away on August 16. The tweet has unleashed a series of trolls on social media.
Three days ago, on August 21, Salman tweeted, “Truly a sad feeling to have lost a great leader, noble politician, orator, and an exceptional human being like Atal ji”.
However, twitteratis were not pleased with Bhaijaan’s post. While many of them were quite amused with the late tweet, some of them even made fun of his condolence post by commenting “Tiger so raha tha” (tiger was sleeping). Twitteratis even addressed him as ‘Sir Tubelight’. His social media post received hilarious comments.
Just have a look how netizens slam Salman for his late condolence tweet:
