#India will look to bounce back and #Bangladesh will aim to start the #T20I series on a winning note.
India and Bangladesh will face off in the 2nd Match of the Nidahas Trophy at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo today.
India will look to correct the things which went wrong against Sri Lanka, Rohit and co will look to win the game and get some points on the table.
India lost the match due to their poor batting performance, Rohit Sharma’s poor form is a huge concern for India. He has been batting poorly since the South Africa tour.
But now he needs to play a captain’s innings, India needs him to fire at the top order.
With Shikhar Dhawan in very good form, it is important that Rohit Sharma plays well against Bangladesh today.
Bangladesh are also an inexperienced team, they have lost the main player called Shakib Al Hasan due to injury.
But still India cant take them lightly because Bangladesh players have talented players, they just need experience. They have shocked India many times in the past. India shouldn’t forget that.
Suresh Raina played well against South Africa, but he didn’t do much in the 1st T20I. He will be hoping for a better show against Bangladesh today.
The middle order is also a concern for India. They need to add quick runs in the later overs.
Rishab Pant, Dinesh Karthik and Manish Pandey need to play some big shots towards the end of the innings.
They didn’t do much against Sri Lanka on Tuesday. Now in this crunch situation, India needs these young talents to fire.
India also needs proper T20I batsmen at number 6, it would be a good idea to have Deepak Hooda at that batting position.
Deepak Hooda is a wicketkeeper batsman he may replace Dinesh Karthik or Rishab Pant.
Vijay Shankar’s all round talent is still unused; he didn’t have a great day with the ball. Now he would be hoping to make a mark as an all rounder today.
The bowling also looked very weak against Sri Lanka, Shardul Thakur was hammered by the Lankan batsmen. He was taken for a ride in that match. His 27 runs in an over turned the momentum towards the opposition team.
Thakur and be dropped and Mohd Siraj can replace him in the playing XI.
Only the spinners did some damage but that wasn’t enough for India to win the game from there, if the pacers wouldn’t have leaked runs than the spinners would have been more effective.
Jaydev Unadkat bowled decently against Sri Lanka but he needs to do a lot more than this. He and Mohd Siraj should open the bowling in today’s game.
Likely Playing XI of India –
Deepak Hooda and Mohd Siraj should make it the playing XI today.
Rohit Sharma (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Manish Pandey, Rishab Pant, Deepak Hooda/Dinesh Karthik, Vijay Shankar, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohd Siraj, Jaydev Unadkat.
Even though Bangladesh looks doesn’t look like a great team, India can’t afford to take them lightly.
Bangladesh will struggle in the absence of their premiere and star all rounder Shakib Al Hasan.
But still they have plenty of good players who can shine for them.
Captain Mahmudllah will have to lead his team like a true leader and he will require the support from Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Taskin Ahmed, Mustifizur Rahaman and the other young talents of this Bangladeshi team.
Bangladesh has not won a single T20I match against India, with India already 0-1 down in this series, Bangladesh has an opportunity to create a history today.
For that, they need to do well in all the 3 departments and they also need the players to do well.
Mustifizur Rahaman holds them in the bowling and Tamim Iqbal will hold the key with the bat in hand.
If Bangladesh wants to win their first ever T20I match again India than these two should fire for them.
Likely Playing XI for Bangladesh –
Mahmudullah Riyad (C), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim, Sabbir Rahman, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain.
Can Bangladesh create history by beating India today? Or will India bounce back in this Nidashas Trophy?
