#Smith, #Warner and #Bancroft had been banned by #Cricket #Australia and the #ICC.
Cricket Australia has banned Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft for the ball tampering case in the ongoing test series in South Africa.
Steve Smith and David Warner has been banned for 1 year and Cameron Bancroft has been banned for 9 months.
This decision has been taken by the Australian Cricket board, they conducted their own investigation and found these 3 players guilty.
BCCI also banned Steve Smith and David Warner from taking part in the IPL which will start from April 7th 2018.
Steve Smith and David Warner are the captains of the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals respectively.
Ajinkya Rahane has been named the new captain for Rajasthan Royals and Shikhar Dhawan may replace David Warner as their new skipper. The SRH team hasn’t announced their new captain yet but many think that Dhawan may be the one who will captain the Hyderabad team.
The International Cricket Council has also banned Steve Smith from one test match with 100% match fee and Cameron Bancroft with hefty fine, he has fined with 75% match fee.
The investigation done by Cricket Australia found that it was David Warner who came up with the idea of tampering the ball with sand paper.
Warner apparently showed Bancroft how to execute this plan on field, leading him in the proper instruction of using sandpaper to tamper with the ball.
That is the reason why David Warner has been banned by Cricket Australia for 1 year.
Steve Smith the captain of the Australian team remained silent when this was apparently planned by Warner.
Smith allowed Warner to go ahead and when Bancroft was caught on the cameras, Smith didn’t take Warner’s name instead of that he took the name of the group leaders in the Australian team.
He was also handed a 12 month ban and he won’t be considered as a captain even after 12 months of ban.
Cameron Bancroft was the one who executed the plan given by Warner.
He should have had the guts to say no but he chose instead to go ahead with the plan.
Bancroft used the sand paper to rub the one side of the ball, when questioned by the umpires he put the sand papper inside his trousers and when he was asked some questions by the press he said that he used a yellow sticky tape on the ball.
However Cricket Australia investigated it was sand paper not the yellow sticky tape.
Bancroft was also banned by Cricket Australia for 9 months and just like Smith and Warner he wont be considered as a captain of Australia even after completing his ban.
Darren Lehman was initially thought to be guilty according to the video footage which was investigated by Cricket Australia.
It was said that Lehman was on wakie takie, he was giving some instructions to Peter Handscomb.
But later the investigations said that Lehman was just trying to find out what’s is happening. But the investigating officers said that Lehman has no hand in this ploy, so he hasn’t been removed by the Cricket Australia board.
Smith, Warner and Bancroft have been charged on breach of conduct of the Cricket Australia’s code.
Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft have been charged with breach article 2.3.5 of the CA code of conduct.
As per the rules of Cricket Australia, these three players have been banned from playing International Cricket during the period of the year. They can continue club cricket and they will encouraged to maintain relations with cricket communities.
But they will have to give 100 hours of service to community cricket.
