#India and #Bangladesh will lock horns in the final match of #NidahasTrophy today.
India and Bangladesh will face each other for the one last time in this Tri series, the final match of the Nidahas Trophy will be played today at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
India has never lost a T20 International against Bangladesh and India has won all the semi final and final encounters against the neighbours.
The last time when India and Bangladesh played in a final was in Asia Cup in 2016, India won that match mainly because of Dhawan, Kohli and the Indian bowlers who did a fantastic job in that match.
But today India are without their stars, the young Indian team needs to step up and deliver in this final.
Rohit and his young men cant take Bangladesh lightly, Bangladesh is coming off from a thrilling win against Sri Lanka that brought the Bangla Tigers to the finals of this Nidahas Trophy.
India will want Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan to give a good opening start, Rohit played well against Sri Lanka in their previous encounter and Shikhar Dhawan is in good form. He needs to use that in this crucial match.
The number 3 slot should be given to Suresh Raina, he played well against the Lankans. Raina and Rohit shared a match winning partnership of 102 runs in that game.
This huge stand came after a decent opening start given by Dhawan and Skipper Rohit Sharma.
Suresh Raina is the best when it comes to the shortest format of the game, he bats freely in T20Is that’s what India needs from MR.T20 specialist.
Raina can also contribute in the field and with the ball in hand, if India needs another spinner than Raina can give his quota of 4 overs.
The middle order isn’t that effective, KL Rahul needs to find form. He can be replaced with young Deepak Hooda.
Deepak Hooda is an exciting young talent; he had done well in IPL and domestic season. India should give him the responsibility to bat in the end overs.
With Manish Pandey in good form, Deepak Hooda and Dinesh Karthik can take India to a good score.
Manish Pandey has finished few games well, he might be the finisher that India is looking for. He played well against Sri Lanka in the 4th match of the Nidahas Trophy.
He took India home after the top order failed to provide a good start. Manish Pandey scored vital 42 runs; he was well supported by Dinesh Karthik who was unbeaten on 39 runs.
With Deepak at number 6, India can chase down any score given by Bangladesh.
Hooda can also bowl some overs too if there is any need, he should be a perfect replacement for KL Rahul in this all important final.
The bowling has improved decently from India, the spinners are the one who are doing a decent job.
Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal are in good form, but they will want to continue that in this mega match.
But the fast bowlers needs to start off well, Shardul Thakur and Vijay Shankar should be given the new ball.
Mohd Siraj can operate in the middle overs with two spinners holding at one end.
India’s Likely Playing XI –
Deepak Hooda should make it to the squad and KL Rahul should be dropped.
Rohit Sharma (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Dinesh Karthik, Vijay Shankar, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohd Siraj, Jaydev Unadkat.
Bangladesh on the other hand will be hoping to do what they did to Sri Lanka twice.
Bangladesh did well to come through the finals of this Nidahas Trophy.
They will want Liton Das to fire in this all important match, Das has been silent with the bat after playing well at the start of this Nidahas Trophy.
Mushifiqur Rahim also missed out against Sri Lanka few days ago. He will be looking to make up for it by playing well in this final.
Tamim Iqbal and vice captain Mahmudullah played well against Sri Lanka.
Now they will be hoping for another good outing against India today.
Mahumudullah played an excellent innings; he played the role of a finisher very well in the last match. Bangladesh needs him to do that more often.
Bangla Tigers will be thrilled to have Shakib Al Hasan back for this final match. He will be the player to watch out for Bangladesh, he bowled well against Sri Lanka.
But Bangladesh needs him to fire with the bat as well. His presence in the field will do a lot of difference for Bangladesh.
But Soumya Sarkar’s form will worry Bangladesh, he can be dropped and Taskin Ahmed can replace him in the playing XI.
Taskin Ahmed has performed well against India, he will make the good use of the new ball and the older ball.
Bangladesh struggled to make an impact after starting so well against Sri Lanka;
Taskin Ahmed can solve their problems in the later overs.
Mustifizur Rahaman, Rubel Hossain needs to bowl well at the start and they should also end the innings well.
These two went for short pitched deliveries which went for huge sixes;
Kusal and Thisara Perera smashed the short pitched deliveries all over the park.
Taskin Ahmed’s inclusion will give a variety in the Bangladesh’s bowling.
Mehidy Hasan was economical against Sri Lanka that was because of Shakib’s bowling. Hasan should continue to support Shakib.
Likely Playing XI of Bangladesh –
Taskin Ahmed inclusion will do good for Bangladesh.
Mahmudullah Riyad , Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Sabbir Rahman, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Liton Das, Shakib Al Hasan (C) and Narzul Islam.
India looks the favourites to win the Nidahas Trophy. But they shouldn’t take Bangladesh lightly.
