India and Pakistan will take on each other in a huge battle of the Champions Trophy 2017 at Kennington Oval in London tomorrow.
These two Asians Giants will play the final after World T20 in 2007.
India hammered the weak and in experienced Bangladeshis to reach the final spot and Pakistan outplayed the hosts England to reach here.
Pakistan will play their 1st Final of the Champions Trophy and it is the 4th time that India has featured in the finals of an ICC Champions Trophy tournament.
India has done well so far. They have been winning games comprehensively. Their batsmen and bowlers are in top form. Overall the team is in good nick. Apart from a shocking loss to Sri Lanka, India has been a class side in this tournament.
India had played Pakistan in their opening game at Edgbaston. But that Pakistani side was different and the side which will play tomorrow has radically changed their outlook.
Pakistan has come a long way since their loss to India at Edgbaston. They have dropped Ahmed Sezhad as an opener. Fakhar Zaman has been really good for them. Fakhar has been successfully giving them good starts. It has been difficult for the bowlers to dismiss him. Sarfraz will want Fakhar to continue his explosive batting.
Azhar Ali too brought his golden touch against England. He played a good knock of 76 runs that might help his confidence against India in the Finals.
But the middle order of Pakistan will worry them a bit. Babar Azam and Mohd Hafeez were successful in finishing the game against England but inconsistency in their batting may leave the Pakistani camp in a panic situation.
Another concern for Pakistan is the form of their senior most player Shoaib Malik. Malik hasn’t had a great going in this tournament. He had a good chance to be make a impression against Sri Lanka but he didn’t take the opportunity that came his way. He was out cheaply in that match.
The bowling has no worries at all. It has been the strength for Pakistan over the years. Hasan Ali is the highest wicket taker for Pakistan in this tournament. Ali has been bowling some terrific spells that are the game changing one too.
Bowlers like Junaid Khan and Mohd Amir are also in good form. They have been the primary wicket takers for Pakistan.
Spinners Imad Wassim and Shadab Khan have a decent a job till now. Mohd Hafeez’s part time spin is also helping Pakistan in a big way.
This is going to be a great contest between these two teams.
India should be aware of Pakistan, now they are the team with great game changers. The two Champions trophy winners can’t take this Pakistani side lightly.
Even though India’s batting is in supreme form but the concern is of the lower order batsmen. Players like MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya and Kedar Jhadav haven’t got more chances to bat.
Only the Openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, then later Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh have really had outings to bat.
So there is a big test for the lower order batsmen in this final game. As Rohit, Dhawan, Kohli and Yuvi are in good nick.
Bowling too has been good after the Sri Lanka shock. But Ashwin went wicket less against an ordinary team like Bangladesh.A lot may depend too on how he bowls tomorrow.
Kedar Jhadav didn’t get the much of chance with the bat, but it was his spell against Bangladesh that turned the game around to India’s favour. Jhadav’s talent with the ball is an asset for team India in this final match. Kohli will expect such more good bowling spells from Jhadav.
The equation is 12-2 in the ICC events of India and Pakistan matches. India comfortably holds 12 wins against Pakistanis. That is the psychological edge that India has in this final match.
But Pakistan has good record of 6-2 in the finals. Sarfraz Ahmed captained his under 19 team against the Indians. It was him that led Pakistan to that Under 19 world cup title.
Now he is all set to captain his national side in a Champions Trophy final and result will known tomorrow.
Will it Rain at Kennington Oval in London? According to the BBC, the weather forecast report says hot and sunny with light winds and just a very slight chance of an isolated heavy shower developing during the afternoon in the north. It is going stay very warm and muggy overnight.
