The Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) has announced a talented 16-member squad for the International T20 and ODI Deaf Cricket Series. The upcoming international competitions will provide significant opportunities for the country’s hearing impaired cricketers.
A T20 International tri-series will be held between India, South Africa and Australia from March 2 to 8 in New Delhi. After this, the Indian Deaf Cricket Team will play a three-match ODI series with Australia from March 10 to 12. Virender Singh will lead the team.
The team will undergo extensive training and practice sessions under the guidance of head coach Dev Dutt and assistant coach Sushil Gupta. Dev Dutt praised selector Vinod Kumar Matta for his skill in team selection.
IDCA President Sumit Jain expressed confidence in the team’s potential, “Our team is extremely promising. We are confident that our players will perform excellently in both the tournaments.”
The team comprises talented players from different states, including Virender Singh (captain), Umar Ashraf (wicketkeeper), and representatives from other states.
Through DICC, IDCA is promoting cricket for hearing impaired athletes in collaboration with the International Cricket Council.
