Last year in August, we have heard that B-Town’s ace director Karan Johar has green-lit the sequel to his 2008 production venture the romantic-comedy film ‘Dostana’, the film which had featured Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and of course our desi girl Priyanka Chopra. The report also suggested that the producer wants a fresh cast for the sequel venture. Karan wants new actors and an A-list actress to complete the love triangle.
And now buzz says that, it’s the Bhatt girl, who is in talks to play the female pivotal role in the much talked about ‘Dostana’ sequel.
While, a close source to the development has revealed that Alia has liked the idea and yet to close the formalities soon after going through the final script, Karan Johar dismisses the news. The ace Bolly director has cleared air about any speculations surrounding the upcoming film, saying “No one has been officially approached for Dostana 2. Only some ideas and thoughts are underway but nothing official has moved.”
The 2008 rom-com venture was helmed by Tarun Mansukhani which revolved around two men who pretended to be gay to share an apartment with a girl and eventually fall in love with her. After the success of ‘Dostana’, fans have been eagerly awaiting for the sequel.
Alia will next be seen in KJo’s Dharma Productions ‘Kalank’, ‘Brahmastra’ and ‘Takht’. And now if the reports are to be believed, she has been offered ‘Bahubali’ director SS Rajamouli’s next Telegu film ‘RRR’, which will also stars Jr NTR and Ramcharan. The 25-year-old Bollwood actor is reportedly keen to be a part of Rajamouli’s film and is trying to work out her dates from her busy schedule, as she will be tied up with promotions of her upcoming films and the shoot of Ranbir-starrer ‘Brahmastra’ in the next few months. In between, Alia is trying to figure out dates for the Telegu film after wrapping up ongoing commitments.
