Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has paid off the loans of over 2,000 farmers from Bihar. The 76-year old actor took to his personal blog to share the good news.
Big B revealed that he called on some of the farmers to his residence and donated the amount through his children Sweta and Abhishek.
He wrote on his blog, “A promise made done… the farmers from Bihar that had outstanding loans, picked 2,100 of them and paid off their amount with a One Time Settlement with the bank…called some of them over to Janak and personally gave it to them at the hands of Sweta and Abhishek.”
The cine icon had previously written that “There is the gift of those that suffer from the inability to pay back the loans. They be now from the state of Bihar.” This is not the first time the ‘Piku’ star has helped farmers. Last year, he had cleared the loans of over one thousand farmers from Uttar Pradesh and 350 from Maharashtra.
Amitabh also said he was on his way to honour another promise he made to the martyr families of the Pulwama terror attack. He wrote on his blog, “To the family and wives of the brave hearts that sacrificed their lives for the country, at Pulwama, a small gesture of financial aid. True ‘shaheeds’.”
