B-Town celebs are known for voicing their opinion on some certain taboo topics to bring them out of the darkness. Earlier, Many Bollywood biggies have spoken about homosexuality, gay relationship and abolishing section 377 in India. Amongst those who spoke against the issue, the ace director and producer Karan Johar was always seen in front row. He has always been of the opinion that this is high time that taboos like homosexuality or LGBT issues should be discuss openly. Speaking of this, he has not even shied away from revealing his own sexual orientation irrespective of the judgmental society that we live in!
In fact, there was a time when Karan won’t even spell it out in words considering our country and society, as the issue was illegal till then. But today, the scenario has changed with apex court abolishing 377; there is nothing that can stop a person from falling in love with someone of the same gender.
Precisely, the reason why filmmaker Karan Johar feels it’s time to normalize homosexuality in Bollywood films by making a venture on homosexual love story, just like any other love story. It’s not that Bollywood has not explored the subject earlier, ‘Dostana’, helmed by Karan, being the most popular film, but the time has came that to move over the stereotypical references made against the LGBT community and make a true-to-heart kind of film. And this is why Karan wants to helm a venture on gay relationship with two leading Bolly actors.
Recently, Karan Johar was at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland and there he had made this revelation while the Bollywood ace director was speaking on the panel that was discussing the LGBTQ community. Karan asserted, “Being a leading filmmaker, I can make movies on the subject. I would love to make a homosexual love story and would want to cast two leading actors in the film. I don’t have in mind specific names of the actors I want to cast in the film, but I surely want to make such a film,” he added.
While Karan’s chat show ‘Koffee With Karan season 6’ has already been talk of the tinsel town, Mr. director is now all set to give his hand for his new venture ‘Takht’, the film which has stellar cast Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar. The film slated to release in 2020.
According to reports, after ‘Takht’, Karan is planning for his new venture on homosexual relationship.
And here we wonder whom we will get to see in Karan’s homosexual movie!
