On Army Day, PM Modi and Army chief welcomed soldiers and praised the Indian Army for being strong, courageous and determined.
He said that Indian Army made the nation proud as he wished for them on behalf of the people. Army Day is remembered as the first Indian general to take over command of the Indian Army from a British officer in 1949.
Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat also expressed his appreciation to Indian soldiers on Friday, saying that their bravery and sacrifice was an inspiration to many.
“On the historic Army Day, we pay homage and express our gratitude to those brave soldiers, whose valour and Supreme sacrifice in line of duty inspires us to rededicate ourselves with renewed vigour,” said the Chief
