Amid waves of public outrage, BJP confirmed that the four-time jailed rape accused lawmaker Kuldeep Sengar was expelled from the party.

Days after the Unnao rape survivor and her lawyer were critically wounded and two of her relatives were killed in a car crash on Sunday, the girl’s family has blamed Sengar of plotting the crash. The move came just after the day while CBI has registered a murder and attempt to murder case against him.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh police had filed a murder case on Monday against Sengar and nine others after the survivor’s family filed a complaint, alleged conspiracy behind the accident.

On Tuesday, the Centre handed the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation on the recommendation of the Uttar Pradesh government.

So far, at least10 people have been booked for murder, including Sengar, who is already in jail on charges of raping the Unnao woman.

Meanwhile, the condition of the Unnao rape survivor and her lawyer, who were admitted to the King George Medical University in Lucknow, is stable but both are on ventilator support, doctors said.

On Thursday, a bench led by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi transferred the case to Delhi and said, “… we order the transfer of all the cases from the CBI court in UP to Delhi. The designated judge in Delhi will commence the trial on day-to-day basis and complete the trial within 45 days”.

Court also ordered compensation of Rs 25 lakh for the victim to be paid by UP govt by Friday. In the accident case, Court directed CBI to complete it’s investigation preferably within a week.

Moreover, the Court ordered CRPF to provide security to the victim and her family. SC ordered enquiry into how there was a delay in processing the letter of Unnao rape victim to CJI and whether any negligence was there on part of any officer of SC Registry.
