Jammu and Kashmir which were reeling under STRICT restrictions with imposition of section 144 for the last 7 days, are gradually getting back to normal life. According to reports issued by the government authorities issued to the media, over the next week the valley will observe service restoration as communication service will be operational, area-wise schools will reopen from Monday.
The services of government offices in Jammu and Kashmir have been fully restored since Friday after Governor’s official permission.
According to State’s Chief Secretary BVR Subramaniam, “the discontinuation of services has been taken as a security measure when the government scrapped Article 370.’’
A special status had been given to valley, and jammu and Kashmir was announced Union Territory. Since then valley was kept under strict vigil and restrictions for ensuring no loss of life.
Restrictions have been imposed on political rallies, visiting of others political leaders and various Kashmir leaders, including three former Chief Ministers of the states, Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti are placed under preventive custody. Referring to the issue, the Chief Secretary said that decisions will be taken based on law and order assessment.
Meanwhile state broadcaster All India Radio said, “Earlier on Friday, Governor Satya Pal Malik directed the civil secretariat in Srinagar and government offices to resume normal functioning from Friday.”
