BJP President JP Nadda to visit Bihar CM to discuss Chirag Paswan’s squabble, seat-sharing

BJP president JP Nadda, who is visiting Bihar ahead of the assembly elections, will be meeting JDU chief and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar at 10 am on Saturday. The two leaders are expected to discuss the seat-sharing arrangement between JDU, BJP and other NDA allies for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.

As ally LJP headed by Chirag Paswan continues to take an opposing stand against Nitish Kumar, the two leaders are also likely to discuss the situation with LJP. JP Nadda has moved out of Delhi for the first time since the pandemic to visit Bihar for the elections.

Sources have said Nadda and Nitish Kumar might take a final decision on the next step to be taken on the alliance with LJP and Chirag Paswan who has come out with several critical remarks against the chief minister.

Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party has taken a strident stand against the JDU and threatened to put up candidates against its nominees during the elections. The LJP has, however, refrained from targeting the BJP.

Amid the growing rift with JDU ahead of the Bihar assembly polls, LJP patron Ram Vilas Paswan on Friday said he will stand firmly with whatever decision his son and LJP chief Chirag Paswan takes on the party’s ties.

In a series of tweets, the Union minister said that he was hospitalised with an illness and was getting treatment for it. He, however, did not mention the nature of his illness.

Ram Vilas Paswan’s backing of his son comes after the LJP authorised Chirag to take a call on whether the party will fight against Nitish Kumar-headed JDU in the assembly polls and decided to prepare a list of candidates for 143 constituencies.

Chirag Paswna’s run-in with the government in the state began in March this year when he embarked on a ”Bihar First Bihari First” campaign which was viewed with suspicion by the JDU.
