Abki Baar 200 Paar: West Bengal BJP Chief on Assembly Elections

West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh spoke on “Mission Bengal and said “abki baar 200 paar”, referring to the party’s capability to win more than 200 of the total 294 seats in the state Assembly election, due in six months.

“The BJP has been working hard in West Bengal for the last 3-4 years, the results of which were seen first in the panchayat elections and then in the Lok Sabha polls when the party won 18 seats. The central leadership is assessing the ground situation and telling the party where it can do better,” Dilip Ghosh said in an exclusive interview.

Experienced leaders such as party national president JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have been to Bengal to analyse how much work has been done so far.

Dilip Ghosh said all economic and social crimes are happening in Bengal because of TMC and when central agencies are moving in, they are getting tensed.

“If central agencies act against the coal mafia and those involved in cow smuggling, why do they (TMC) get disheartened? We haven’t caught any of their leaders. Of course, it’s possible in the future, otherwise, how was all this going on for so long?” Dilip Ghosh said.

“It is their (TMC) internal matter. He is their leader and minister. He isn’t the only one. At least 5-7 MLAs have given statements saying they are feeling suffocated, not getting oxygen,” Dilip Ghosh said.

“We are roaming around with oxygen cylinders. We’ve told everyone, come join us. Breathe in the open. Why are you living in a Corona-like environment?” Dilip Ghosh said.

Suvendu Adhikari has been maintaining distance from TMC’s top leaders, staying away from party and cabinet meetings for the past few months. He has been holding rallies across the East Midnapore district without using the party’s banners or its supremo, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s posters.
