2-year-old UK returnee tests positive for new coronavirus strain, India reports seventh case of the latest strain

A two-year-old girl who had recently returned to Meerut from the UK with her family tested positive for the new coronavirus strain. The parents of the boy have tested positive for coronavirus, but the new strain has not yet been confirmed in their samples.

Four family members tested positive for coronavirus earlier, during which their samples were sent to Delhi to validate the new strain. Out of the four tests, the two-year-old girl tested positive for the new coronavirus strain. Their locality has been sealed while residents in the area are being watched.

With this, India reported the seventh case of the latest coronavirus strain and the first one in Uttar Pradesh.

Six people who had recently returned to India from the United Kingdom tested positive for the new coronavirus strain. According to the government release, 3 samples were found in NIMHANS of Bengaluru, 2 in CCMB, Hyderabad and 1 in NIV, Pune out of all the samples examined.

The new strain is currently spreading at a much faster rate, sending warning bells ringing across the world.
