The World Bank has estimated that Ukraine’s buildings and infrastructure have been damaged by about $60 billion due to the war.
World Bank President David Malpus said yesterday that the estimate did not include rising prices due to the conflict. This amount will continue to grow as the Russian military campaign continues.
Volodymyr Zelensky also said the country would need an estimated $7 billion a month to cover its economic losses and hundreds of billions of dollars to rebuild.
Ukraine is a major global supplier of agricultural exports such as wheat. But now questions are being raised on this because wheat cultivation has been adversely affected due to the war. According to the World Bank, about 4 million people have moved from Ukraine to Poland and other countries. Not only this, about 65 lakh people have been displaced within the country.
