Emmanuel Macron will be the President of France for the second term. He has won the presidential election with 58.2% votes. His rival right-winger Marin Lopen got 41.8 percent of the vote. The voting round for the presidential election ended at 8 pm local time in France.
Macron, 44, is the first president to be elected for a second consecutive term in twenty years. Twenty years ago, Ziak Chirac was elected to a second term. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson sent him a congratulatory message in English as well as in French.
Marien Le Pen is running for the third time in the race for the presidency of France. Maryann Le Pen’s father also tried his luck for the presidency five times. In this election, President Emmanuel Macron was facing a tough challenge from opposition leader Marin Le Pen.
