Kapil Sibal has left the party. On Wednesday, he filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha with the support of the Samajwadi Party. Sibal has raised questions on the Congress high command, especially Rahul Gandhi, in such a situation it was believed that Congress would hardly send him to the Rajya Sabha. Before the nomination, Sibal had gone to the SP office and reached the Rajya Sabha along with Akhilesh.
After the nomination, Mr. Sibal said that he has filled the form as an independent candidate. Sibal had represented the jailed Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan in the court on various charges and helped him get bail.
Sibal is currently Lalu’s lawyer in the fodder scam case. Apart from this, there has been a CBI raid on Lalu’s hideouts only recently. Tejashwi Yadav and Misa Bharti have also been booked in one case. In such a situation, RJD was preparing to become legally strong by joining Kapil Sibal. Earlier in 2016, Lalu Yadav has also sent senior advocate Ram Jethmalani to Rajya Sabha.
